When I first received the book, I was directed to her website, where I could take a quiz which would grade my partners relationship repair counter. My partner received a grade of F. This is because this book is directly related to the biggest issue in my relationship. This book stresses how important conflict resolution is in your relationship. It lets you know how to address and resolve complaints. The book contains very relatable examples of relationship scenarios and resolutions, and what can happen if they are resolved correctly. It provides you with tools to solve problems, while always using a comparison to business customer service. This makes it very easy to understand and the analogy is very fitting and makes perfect sense. She also lets you know what can and inevitably will happen if your relationship repair counter isn't put to use. The book is filled with many relationship repair steps, relationship repair attitudes and relationship repair strategies, that really hit the points home. She provides you with steps for resolution, exercises to help you understand your relationship and what it needs. She lets you know how to ask for comfort from your partner. There are plenty of "what not to do's" . Just like in business, she lets you know that , like your customers" if you are not regularly repairing complaints your partner feels helpless and unimportant" . My partner received an F on the quiz which means he has no relationship repair counter, so it's great that she tells you what to do if you are in this predicament too. Your relationship is like a well running business and I think a lot of people can relate to this approach. I have read it and loved it and now I am about to start reading it again with my partner.
